Starting this blog was a big step for me— it came with feelings of excitement and of vulnerability. For the last few years, I’ve focused on the Cooking part of Breathing and Cooking— creating and sharing recipes, learning the technology, and finding my voice. But from the beginning, there was something else I wanted to share. I’ve sprinkled it gently throughout my recipes, a flavor that settles quietly in the background, out of the spotlight but essential to the final dish…

And lately, I’ve felt a pull to bring that flavor forward. To name it. To give it space. Because it’s important to me. And, just like the cooking part…I’m thinking you might find that it’s important to you, too.
Honoring The Inbetween
Yesterday, I practiced at the studio instead of teaching.
Since becoming a yoga teacher, those practices have become more necessary… and also more rare.
But yesterday, I let go. I settled in. I was fully there.
It was my favorite kind of yoga—long holds, deep focus, slow transitions, and breath that felt like both anchor and guide.
Sometimes the real challenge is in doing less, not more.
When momentum isn’t pushing you forward, you have to draw from the quiet strength within.
There’s so much value in the space between where we’ve been and where we’re going.
That space teaches us things we can’t learn any other way—if we’re willing to slow down and listen.

And maybe that’s exactly where I’ve been.
In the in-between.
In my winter.
Winter has a way of asking us to pause, to reflect, to rest and root down. And while I didn’t expect to be in that space for so long, I can see now that I needed it.
A New Chapter
But spring has arrived, both around me and within me.
And with it, a quiet readiness.
Not to rush forward, but to begin again—with presence, curiosity, and breath.
This post marks the beginning of a new chapter here on Breathing and Cooking.
You’ll still find plenty of recipes and food stories, but you’ll also start to see something new blooming—conversations about balance, nourishment, and the in-between spaces of life. This new section, called Breathing, is where those pieces will live. It’s where I’ll share thoughts on yoga, wellness, and remembering how to tune in—before we tune out.
What You’ll Find in the New Breathing Section
This new space is rooted in the same values that guide my kitchen: presence, intention, and nourishment. But instead of just focusing on what we eat, we’ll explore the how and why behind what helps us feel well.
Here, you can expect thoughts on:
- Building strong foundations for wellness—without the pressure of perfection
- Cultivating balance through breath, movement, and mindset
- Embracing self-acceptance while making space for growth
- Tuning into your body’s wisdom instead of outsourcing your intuition
- Simplifying healthy living in ways that work for your life
- And staying curious—always curious—as you shape your own path
There’s no dogma here. No rigid rules. Just real conversation, rooted in respect for your body, your timing, and your ability to make aligned, informed choices that feel right for you.
Let’s Settle In

And there’s no better place to begin than with the story of my daughter, Hannah, and her small but mighty regenerative farm. If you’re curious about where your food comes from—or if you’ve ever wondered how we can return to a more intentional, regenerative relationship with the land—this story about Fable Farm is a great place to start!

Welcome back, I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s settle in, breath… and trust the process together ❤️
